Job Type: Full-Time
Compensation: $170,000 – $215,000 Base Salary + Equity

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Product Manager to join our fast-growing fintech startup and help build the future of small and medium business lending technology. Reporting directly to the CEO, you'll work in a highly collaborative, forward-deployed environment alongside customers, design partners, and engineering to develop enterprise-grade financial products.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who thrives in early-stage startups, enjoys solving technically complex problems, and is passionate about owning products from concept through launch and iteration.

What You'll Do

  • Own products throughout the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), from discovery through launch and ongoing iteration.

  • Partner directly with customers, subject matter experts, and engineering teams to understand business problems and define product solutions.

  • Gather requirements, identify edge cases, write detailed product specifications, and develop enterprise-level documentation.

  • Translate complex business needs into clear technical requirements while balancing engineering trade-offs.

  • Work closely with software engineers throughout implementation, testing, release, and feature improvements.

  • Build deep expertise in one or more product areas before expanding ownership across additional product initiatives.

  • Drive product execution while maintaining a high standard for quality, usability, and operational excellence.

  • Contribute to product strategy while remaining highly hands-on with execution.

  • Champion thoughtful UX for complex administrative and operations-focused workflows.

  • Continuously improve existing features while helping define and launch new products.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Product Management experience.

  • Experience at a high-growth startup (Series B or later) is required.

  • Previous startup experience with a hands-on ownership mentality.

  • Experience building fintech products, with strong preference for:

    • Small and medium business (SMB) lending

    • Loan origination systems

    • Financial services platforms

  • Computer Science degree required.

  • Previous software engineering experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to own the full SDLC, including:

    • Customer discovery

    • Requirements gathering

    • Enterprise documentation

    • Acceptance criteria

    • Technical trade-offs

    • Product delivery and iteration

  • Strong ability to communicate directly with engineering teams and participate in technical decision-making.

  • Excellent written communication and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with companies such as Notion, Ramp, Rippling, Mercury, Brex, Blend, Vesta, or PayPal (particularly SMB lending products).

  • Previous founder or startup leadership experience.

  • Strong product intuition with an eye for complex enterprise UX and operational workflows.

  • Portfolio or examples of products you've helped design, launch, or scale.

  • Experience working directly with enterprise customers and design partners.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically strong, and execution-focused. You'll be equally comfortable collaborating with engineers on technical trade-offs as you are meeting with customers to understand product needs.

We're looking for someone who:

  • Thrives in fast-paced, early-stage environments.

  • Takes ownership and drives outcomes independently.

  • Writes exceptional product documentation.

  • Has excellent product judgment and attention to detail.

  • Operates with urgency while maintaining a high quality bar.

  • Enjoys solving complex technical and business challenges.

  • Can balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.

What We're Not Looking For

Candidates are unlikely to be a fit if they:

  • Come from a purely traditional banking or finance background without modern product experience.

  • Have focused primarily on strategy without driving execution.

  • Have only worked within large enterprise organizations.

  • Have multiple short employment tenures (less than one year).

  • Lack experience collaborating directly with engineering teams.
