Salary Range: depends on experience and level of role: $140K - $200K + potential bonus


Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Developer / Analytics Engineer to design, build, and maintain modern, cloud-based data platforms that power analytics, visualization, and business intelligence solutions.

This role is backend-heavy with a strong focus on ETL/ELT pipelines, data warehousing, AWS services, and analytics engineering, paired with front-end visualization using Tableau and Power BI. You will work across the full data lifecycle—from ingestion and transformation to visualization and release management—delivering secure, scalable, high-performance data solutions.
You will collaborate closely with product, analytics, and business stakeholders in an agile environment to deliver data-driven applications that support healthcare, pharmaceutical, biotech, and consulting use cases. Experience working in regulated environments or with large healthcare systems is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

Data Platform & Pipeline Development

  • Design, build, and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines using tools such as AWS Glue, Databricks, and DBT.
  • Develop and manage scalable backend services using AWS Lambda, API Gateway, and serverless architectures.
  • Ensure high data quality, reliability, performance, and security across all pipelines and platforms.
  • Support data warehousing and business intelligence initiatives.


Data Visualization & Analytics

  • Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and reporting solutions using Tableau and Power BI.
  • Partner with business users to translate analytical needs into actionable insights and visualizations.
  • Enable self-service analytics through well-designed data models and semantic layers.


Architecture & Integration

  • Design API-enabled backend integrations and data services aligned with enterprise architecture standards.
  • Implement secure, compliant, and maintainable solutions that meet healthcare and regulatory requirements.


DevOps, Release Management & Operations

  • Support development and production environments across DEV, QA, STAGING, and PROD.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Git, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, and related tools.
  • Implement monitoring, automation, and operational best practices to ensure system reliability.


Agile Collaboration

  • Work within an agile development environment, partnering with product owners and cross-functional teams.
  • Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, release management, and continuous improvement efforts.


Testing & Quality

  • Design and implement automated testing frameworks and data validation strategies.
  • Ensure software quality, data accuracy, and operational reliability.


Leadership (Lead / Principal / Sr. Principal Levels)

  • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and best-practice guidance to junior engineers.
  • Drive innovation, architectural improvements, and analytics modernization initiatives.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to align data engineering efforts with business goals.


Required Qualifications

  • Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, healthcare, or healthcare consulting environments, or experience working with large healthcare systems or regulated industries – MUST HAVE
  • AWS Cloud
  • Data pipeline development (ETL / ELT): AWS Glue, Databricks, DBT
  • Serverless backend development: AWS Lambda, API Gateway
  • Data warehousing & Business Intelligence (BI)
  • Frontend visualization: Tableau, Power BI
  • Agile development methodologies
  • CI/CD & DevOps tools: Git, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes
  • IT security best practices and data compliance
  • CRM platform experience
  • Release management experience


Education & Experience

  • Associate degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field with 11+ years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field with 9+ years of experience
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field with 7+ years of experience
  • Or 11+ years of equivalent business or IT experience
  • Minimum 6+ years of hands-on programming experience preferred


Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Familiarity with machine learning or advanced analytics integration
  • Functional programming experience
