IMPORTANT: This is a hands-on development position, not a purely architectural or managerial role. Candidates must be actively performing SAP Commerce Cloud (Hybris) development and Java coding in their current or most recent position.

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking an experienced Senior SAP Commerce Cloud (Hybris) Developer to design, develop, enhance, and support complex enterprise B2B eCommerce solutions.

This position requires deep technical expertise in SAP Commerce Cloud (Hybris), Java/J2EE, Spring Framework, headless commerce architecture, and enterprise application integrations.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on developer who enjoys coding while providing technical leadership, mentoring team members, and contributing to enterprise architecture decisions.

This role also emphasizes modern AI-assisted software development, including leveraging Claude AI or similar technologies to automate development tasks, improve productivity, and streamline delivery processes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

SAP Commerce Development & Architecture

• Design, develop, implement, and support enterprise-scale SAP Commerce Cloud (Hybris) applications.
• Perform hands-on Java/Spring development, debugging, code optimization, and refactoring.
• Develop end-to-end technical solutions within the SAP Commerce platform.
• Design and support headless commerce architectures utilizing Spartacus, ReactJS, and OCC APIs.
• Support complex B2B commerce processes, including Configure-to-Order (CTO) and Engineer-to-Order (ETO).
• Participate in enterprise-level technical design reviews and architecture discussions.
• Lead technical code reviews to ensure development standards, security, and quality requirements are met.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues, including memory leaks, thread dumps, backend performance problems, and application failures.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, integration guides, and API documentation.

AI-Assisted Development & Automation

• Utilize Claude AI or similar AI-assisted development tools to improve application development efficiency.
• Apply structured planning, autonomous subagents, and environment management within development workflows.
• Create custom AI skills and automation solutions to reduce repetitive development tasks.
• Document and share AI development workflows, standards, and reusable solutions.
• Identify opportunities to improve developer productivity, automation, and technical governance.

Release Management & DevOps

• Take ownership of application release cycles, including deployment planning and coordination.
• Lead or facilitate Agile/Scrum ceremonies and development activities.
• Prepare change documentation and obtain necessary approvals for application deployments.
• Manage and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
• Oversee automated testing processes and support successful production deployments.

Technical Leadership & Collaboration

• Mentor backend developers on Java/Spring development, SAP Commerce architecture, and coding best practices.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Solution Architects, Developers, and other stakeholders.
• Translate business requirements into scalable, maintainable technical solutions.
• Partner with product managers and designers to deliver effective user experiences.
• Communicate technical solutions and project requirements to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
• Identify opportunities to improve development processes and enterprise commerce capabilities.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of relevant software development experience.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on SAP Commerce Cloud (Hybris) development experience.
• Strong expertise in SAP Commerce architecture, customization, and development.
• Deep proficiency in Java/J2EE and Spring Framework, including Spring Core, MVC, Security, and Integration.
• Strong understanding of B2B sales processes and enterprise commerce solutions.
• Exposure to Configure-to-Order (CTO) and Engineer-to-Order (ETO) business processes.
• Experience with headless commerce architecture using Spartacus (SAP Composable Storefront) or ReactJS.
• Experience developing and integrating OCC (Omni Commerce Connect) APIs.
• Experience developing complex technical solutions for mid-to-large-scale B2B SAP Commerce implementations.
• Hands-on experience utilizing Claude AI or similar AI-assisted development tools, including structured planning, autonomous subagents, and environment management.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience working in Agile development environments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to provide technical guidance and mentorship to development teams.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Hands-on experience with SAP CPQ (Configure Price Quote).
• SAP Commerce Cloud CCv2 migration experience.
• Full-stack development experience with ReactJS.
• Experience creating custom AI skills or automation workflows using Claude AI or similar tools.
• Experience managing Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience leading application release cycles and coordinating deployments.
