About the Opportunity

We are recruiting for an experienced Software Engineer II to join a growing engineering team focused on developing modern, scalable cloud-native platforms and internal developer tools.

This opportunity is ideal for a software engineer who enjoys working across multiple layers of technology, building developer-facing tools, and solving complex engineering challenges.

The role combines Golang development, Kubernetes custom operators, GraphQL APIs, and internal platform engineering to improve developer productivity, streamline workflows, and support reliable software delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable software and platform engineering solutions.
  • Build and enhance backend services, APIs, and developer tools using Golang (Go).
  • Develop and maintain command-line interface (CLI) tools to automate engineering workflows and improve developer productivity.
  • Design, implement, and maintain GraphQL backend APIs, including schemas, queries, mutations, and integrations using Golang.
  • Develop and support Kubernetes Custom Resource Definitions (CRDs), custom controllers, and operators.
  • Build and improve internal developer platforms, automation tools, and engineering infrastructure.
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, build systems, release automation, and infrastructure-as-code initiatives.
  • Troubleshoot complex application, deployment, and infrastructure-related issues across distributed systems.
  • Participate in root cause analysis, incident investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to improve system performance, scalability, reliability, and observability.
  • Contribute to technical design discussions, engineering standards, and platform improvements.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Hands-on experience developing software and backend services using Golang (Go).
  • Experience building CLI tools using Golang.
  • Experience developing GraphQL backend APIs with Golang, including queries, mutations, and schema management.
  • Experience developing or maintaining Kubernetes Custom Resource Definitions (CRDs) and custom controllers/operators.
  • Experience with internal developer platforms, platform engineering, or developer productivity initiatives.
  • Experience developing software in Linux or macOS environments.
  • Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and system design.
  • Familiarity with distributed systems and modern software architectures.
  • Experience using Git-based version control tools such as GitHub or GitLab.
  • Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized application development.
  • Familiarity with cloud environments such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP), AWS, or Azure.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, GitOps, release automation, and build systems.
  • Experience developing infrastructure-as-code solutions and automating cloud infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes clusters and cloud-native ecosystem tools.
  • Experience with large-scale build systems such as Bazel.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex infrastructure and deployment issues.
  • Understanding of distributed system scalability, performance, availability, and observability.
  • Experience contributing to open-source projects.
  • Exposure to AI/LLM development, agentic workflows, or AI-powered engineering tools.

Ideal Candidate

  • We're looking for a collaborative, technically curious software engineer who enjoys building tools that make other engineers more productive.
  • The ideal candidate has strong Golang development skills, hands-on Kubernetes experience, and a solid understanding of backend API development and platform engineering.
  • You should be comfortable working independently, taking ownership of technical challenges, and collaborating across engineering teams to deliver scalable, reliable solutions.
