Schedule: 9/80 schedule — employees work 80 hours over 9 days and receive every other Friday off
Base Salary: $115,000–$185,000
Relocation Assistance: Available

Security Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI clearance is required. Candidates with an active TS clearance may be considered.

 
Candidates must also possess a CompTIA Security+ or other DoD IAT Level II certification, or be able to obtain the required certification within six months of starting.
Due to the nature of the work and security-clearance requirements, candidates must meet applicable U.S. government eligibility requirements.
 
 
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Lead Software Engineer / Data Analyst to design, modernize, and migrate mission-critical analytics applications into high-performance web applications.
 
This is a hands-on technical role requiring strong full-stack software engineering, cloud/AWS, API, database, and application modernization experience. The engineer will work onsite in a classified mission environment and interact directly with customers, system engineers, cloud engineers, cybersecurity teams, and mission stakeholders.
 
Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain full-stack applications, including front-end interfaces, back-end services, APIs, databases, and data integrations.
  • Modernize and migrate existing analytics applications into scalable, high-performance web applications.
  • Build responsive and intuitive front-end applications using modern JavaScript frameworks and development practices.
  • Develop secure, scalable back-end services, APIs, and application logic supporting mission-critical applications and workflows.
  • Build, deploy, and maintain applications within AWS, ensuring security, scalability, resiliency, performance, and cost effectiveness.
  • Integrate cloud-native services, databases, APIs, and application components across distributed environments.
  • Work with relational and non-relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, and DynamoDB.
  • Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and microservices.
  • Apply software engineering best practices throughout the development lifecycle, including Git, code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD, and DevSecOps.
  • Collaborate with system engineers, cloud engineers, cybersecurity teams, and mission stakeholders to define requirements and deliver end-to-end technical solutions.
  • Work directly with customers to understand operational requirements, gather feedback, troubleshoot issues, and refine application functionality.
  • Prepare architectural designs, implementation plans, technical roadmaps, and system documentation.
  • Provide technical presentations and briefings to stakeholders.
  • Support evolving mission priorities within a dynamic, high-security environment.

 
Required Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI security clearance. Active TS candidates may also be considered.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field plus at least 9 years of relevant experience; OR
  • Graduate degree plus at least 7 years of relevant experience; OR
  • At least 13 years of relevant experience without a degree.
  • Strong hands-on experience developing full-stack software applications.
  • Experience developing modern web applications across both front-end and back-end technologies.
  • Experience building and deploying applications in AWS/cloud environments.
  • Experience developing back-end services, APIs, and application integrations.
  • Experience working with relational and/or non-relational databases.
  • Strong understanding of modern software engineering practices, including version control, testing, CI/CD, and secure development.
  • CompTIA Security+ or other DoD IAT Level II certification, or ability to obtain certification within six months of starting.
  • Ability to work onsite at Patrick Space Force Base, Florida.

  • Transitioning research or prototype capabilities into production/operational software applications.
  • Developing applications for classified DoD or other high-security environments.
  • Familiarity with C2S Access Portal (CAP) and high-side AWS environments.
  • Experience communicating directly with government or mission customers.
